I recently signed up for Rosetta@home and downloaded everything to start the project. Everytime I try to start a WU it starts off at 1% before a second even passes by. Then I let it run for about an hour and it doesn't progress any. Anyone have any ideas on why its doing this?

If you let it continue for more than an hour, does it eventually progress?
Have you tried a reboot of the system, to make sure nothing is stuck?
When checking in Task Manager, does the rosetta_4.77 application show with any CPU cycles?

I have the same problem, so I'll answer your questions.

I'm using BOINC 4.45.
No, it doesn't progress, even after several hours.
Rebooting didn't seem to help. The estimated completion time is rapidly rising.
Yes, each app. thread is getting 25% (a 4 CPU machine).


[EDIT] Actually, rebooting did seem to help. After 26 minutes, it's now at 25% and estimated to complete in 1:25:00. Good advice!

I have had the same problem in the past. I just let it run as usuall. Usually after a reboot, everything works fine and the progress is updated. It seems that if I ran winamp concurrently with BOINC, then this happens. This does not seem to affect my credit, or errors, so I think this is just a bug......

I am running BOINC 4.45 with 2.26 GHz P4 with XP
