There are known problems at present on Rosetta - some users are suspending Rosetta for a few days while the project team sort things out - that is fair enough if that is how you prefer to hsandle it. In the longer term: Please don't judge Rosetta by this - you were unlaucky to join on a bad day, and after the hols the team are introducing new deeper testing systems to try to avoid this in future. See this thread for info on that. River~~ |

It is a problem with some Work Units. This threadhas more details. Finished one job, another one with strange name crashed (NO_RANDOM_WTS_OR_FRAGS etc), 3 download errors. Another job is running. Finally 14 jobs are waiting. Looks good. Are serverproblems causing these "hickups"? RS |

It is a problem with some Work Units. This threadhas more details. Last job finished correctly, new job is busy. It seems that after deleting complete Boinc-directory and using a new install Rosetta is working perfectly. |

software uninstall uninstalls only the BOINC software. It does not uninstall the data, nor the project software. Reset project does delete the project software and data. These distinctions are important and useful. If you want to upgrade BOINC, you can stop BOINC ruinning half way thorugh a work unit, uninstall BOINC, install the new BOINC, start again and the WU will re-start running under the new client. If a project gets corrupted, you can reset that project without having to uninstall BOINC, and without having to disturb any other BOINC projects you have. To achieve the effect you wanted, all you needed to do was to reset the project, or possibly to detach and re-attach. This would have removed all the data and software that came from ROsetta.
On the other hand this may simply be because you now have workung WU and not the buggy ones. But glad you've finally got it to work anyhow. River~~ |
