Over 500K in Rosetta.
Time to start sharing the wealth with other projects.

My milestone was to add yet another BOINC project to my resumé.

Rosetta@Home hits ONE BILLION credits issued!!!

Guess that means a big 'gratz to everybody... !!!WOOHOO!!! Personally, I'd like to work towards that one trillion credits mark. It seems like a bit much, granted, but each credit earned is a credit closer to that goal.

Just passed 100k not too long ago, personally. That'd be like 0.01% of the total work done. Seems small, but considering that there are people out there with access to more computer power than I do (plus the number of participants involved), I think it's worth bragging about it (heck, any amount of work is worth bragging about).

Anyhow, keep up the good work, everybody.

Have hit 400,000 Cobblestones in Rosetta.
Also cracked the million in total points.

100,000 wcg points and 13k rosetta points after one year of joining to grid. Looking forward to have 100k for rosetta in within 6-8 months.

Son tan importantes las cifras?
Lo que hacemos es solo para ayudar.
No deberiamos interesarnos en numeros que solo demuestran que somos egoistas incluso cuandointentamios salvar el mundo.
Espero que no se enojen, es solo mi pensamiento

According to my Spanish to English translation, ElPora is saying that in their opinion, we sometimes focus on the numbers too much. And points us to the project's greater purpose.

I have to agree. But the numbers are fun to celebrate too. And that is part of why this thread is in the cafe.

Hear, hear.

It's the science that's important and that's why I'm here, it's just fun to watch the numbers climb and to celebrate when you reach a significant one (It's a bit like birthday's really!!)

I find it fun to do a bit of friendly competition myself. Yeah, it's about the science and all, and there's always going to be somebody with more CPU power than I do, but it makes it a bit more fun.

That, plus the screen saver is strangely unique. @:^)

Speaking of bragging, reached 120K. YAY! BIG PARTY AT MY PLACE!!! @:^P

Well I finally got around to creating my profile and gettng an avatar. Better late than never, I suppose. But you are right: the numbers are only second place to the science. I hope rosetta someday surpasses the teraflops of all other projects. That would be like totally awesome, dude. :)

I find it a good distraction from lifes general boredoms to see the credit accumulate past certain "milestones". Particularly when they are "big ones" like I just passed half a million! Wohoo!

Translation of Google. Thanks for the recibimiento Feet1st. Competecia is certain is good to improve, single I say, is but important the fact to help a noble cause. And I hope that those that estan in Seti@Home not anger, but I sali of. They know so that? To spend energy in the search of extraterrestrial intelligence is useless, is but valuable to spend that energy in solving the problems of this world and not looking for others.
