To everyone else, hopefully you'll understand why I'm doing this, and when this gets sorted out, this thread can quietly fade away.

Kathryn,

I need a favor from you, asked as one dedicated cruncher to another. You appear to be able to post over on the SIMAP boards, I cannot, by hook or by crook get a post up on those boards right now.

If possible, can you let them know that every job I D/L for SIMAP for my linux box is erroring out. It's host ID 829 over there, this url should get them to it.

http://boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap/show_host_detail.php?hostid=829

Thanks in advance for your help, I'm really desperate to get this resolved.

No problem.

I'm off to open IE (b/c Firefox doesn't play nice with their boards) and post your message. I know other Linux users have been having trouble with SIMAP. I think it's due to the missing DLL file. However, it's not so easy to fix it as it is with Windows. Hopefully they will get it straitened out soon.

OK... Now I'm really off!

Kathryn

Here's what I posted...

Since "dgnuff" can't seem to post on these boards at the moment (he sent me a message via the Rosetta Cafe), I'm asking that you take a look at his CPU ID and see if anyone can figure out why all of his WU are erroring out.

I did suggest to him that it may be the DLL problem. However, he is running a Linux box (don't know what flavor tho) so it may be something else too.

Here is his 'puter.

I will pass on any info to him through the thread in the Rosetta cafe until he can get onto the boards here.

Many thanks,
Kathryn

Hope you get some help!

Thanks for that little snippet of information, and thanks for making the post. I normally use Firefox, let me fire up IE and see what happens.

Might yet get back in there .....

Kathryn, go to Tools > Extension > click on "Get more extensions" and navigate to IE View. It allows one to always open designated pages in IE or, by right-clicking a page, to "View this page in IE".
