Hi, teemies!
not showing up on the team as yet I think, as I haven't returned a job/result/work unit. pc didn't like BOINC, I suspended it. Then, while rebooting, it tried to startup, and crashed it. Still not operational, and I'm NOT ginea (sp) pigging my new lappy.
glad a lot of us are here!

Ah yes. The dreaded spousal check of reality. Strongly recommend as part of marital maintenance that you wander in, throw your arms around whatever part of spouse is available [kneeling at feet is always a nice touch] and proclaiming that she is indeed your better half and you don't thank her often enough for rescuing you from freakdom and dragging you kicking and screaming to suburbia. [Do TRY to keep the sarcasm out of your voice or this will NOT work.] Then offer [a] sex [b] a favorite gift item or [c]a massive pampering neck/back/shoulder rub followed by you performing as adequately as possible whatever chore the spouse was embarked upon when you surprised them with sudden gratitude and appreciativeness. If you can get thru this with a straight face and appropriate utterances of gratitude for their willingness to cohabit with you, you'll find MAJOR favor points [not to mention physical activities of a prurient nature] from your spouse for awhile to come.

Translation - Your spouse is feeling under appreciated and you've done something particularly egregious to bring this to their attention. Immediate marital maintenance is required.

<GP stumbles thru the thread clutching her robe tightly about her in the early morning chill. The large grey cat crouches over her empty food dish moaning mightily about her dire state of starvation and fixes a baleful green/gold eye on the flopping bunny slippers.>
Dang! It's near freezing! Literally.
<Kettle is switched on, GP deeming it too cold for coffee and reaching for her carefully hoarded stash of UK tea.>

Hehehe, yes a lack of teeth would appear to be a prerequisite for that particular pastime :)

just tell her it's all her fault! you're that way because she has you living like a worm in a pumpkin patch and then tell her some BS about how the colours you see and sleep with ( afterall you do sleep on the couch a lot) seep into your brain at night and take over. if she would only agree to paint the ceiling a light blue with wispy white clouds, the walls a calming sea green, with a cream carpet and white plastic pool chairs and a chaise, then you would think you're in spain, she could pretend you're her latin lover and whaaala! no more "freak

The lovely Dell techs somewhere in south India are walking me thru an attempted repair on my hard drive, so expect to see a drastic fall off in crunching. Like NONE until we can see if the drive can be salvaged. Argh!

You see me now courtesy of a no longer under warranty laptop. Whimper.

Aha see I just thought all this talk about decorating etc is tosh :) - Reason being all our rooms are square. Nothing in nature is square and squares have corners where you can get trapped  (nasty beastie thingumies use corners to entrap and disembowel you ) And where spiders can live etc so the most relaxing room would be round. I remember one of me fiends when I was a kid lived in a round house. Has a totally different atmosphere to a square one - Also much stronger in the wind (When we were in hurricane Ivan last year we would have been much better off in a round room - You never see a square lighthouse do you?) Also our space alien ancestors all travel about in saucers and if you were living on the moon your house would probly be round. So to feel comfortable in your room you have to disguise the square and make it look round ermm probly by putting things in the corners to round them off.
Hmmm yes round is a much nicer concept than a horrible square. :)
