when workin on FaD as well as other projects i tend not to read all the messages since some of them dont intrest me. is there a way to easly mark all messages read on the forum or do i (like i am now) have to select each and every thread to open and close it so it will report read?

I can't see anything obvious!
Ermm maybe stick those little magnetic markers (Blue and red ones work best)
on your vdu's (if you still have them) peel them off
(according to some feindishly devious (prefferably) random system of your own devising :) )
Then do a degaus before going to bed. Or upon wakening (depending on the
feindishly devious system of course) hehehe :)

Been there done that?

i haven't seen that feature nasher, but what i did was log into my account>edit forum preferences> sort styles> change message thread list and message posts to "most recent" and "newest first". then i watch the time of "last post" to see if something new has been added. a long about way but so far it works for me.

hey GP! did nec break it again!????

Looks to me like if you read a thread, it gets marked as read. If you dont read a thread, it automatically gets marked read after a week. I show no unread threads more than 7 days old and I know I didnt read most of them.

New forum software does this.

Proudly Banned from Predictator@Home and now Cosmology@home as well. Added SETI to the list today. Temporary ban only - so need to work harder :)
