The best way to lose NONE of your work is simply to "suspend" BOINC. This is done in the "Command" pulldown menu (it's called "Activity" in the newer version of BOINC). Then when you are ready, you set it back to "Run based on preferences". This actually leaves the threads out there, but they stop crunching until you set it back to run based on preferences. I should clarify, I think you'd also need to have your "leave in memory while preempted" preference set to YES to not lose any of the work. This is the preferred setting anyway. It ACTUALLY remains in VIRTUAL memory, so it's not like it is going to be obstructing your other work. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |

Suspend will as said suspend the computation (or right click on boincmanager 'B' icon in the notification/system tray and select Snooze, though I forget) but since your running services Start->Run type sc stop boinc to stop it Start->Run type sc start boinc to start it You'll need to manually close BoincManager though.
