Hello! Sorry for posting at Science forum but I don't know where I could request something like this... I think that it would be cool if rosetta client could display custom logo on screensaver (f.e. in top right corner). It can be done very easy - f.e. main code would check if there is a file logo.bmp and display it. I could try to make rosetta our corporate screensaver (~400 PCs), but it has to display our logo :/ |

Something like this would realy be very nice indeed. I think some more company's could run the client then, as it is able to fit into the company policy about screensavers. Member of the Dutch Power Cows Trying to get the world on IPv6, do you have it? check here: IPv6.RHarmsen.nl |

anyone else thinks it is good idea? Your initial post has already four votes. :-) It is certainly a good idea the question is whether the team has the expertise and the time to implement this. |

If I understand what you are saying... you want to install Rosetta... and yet display a company logo for the screen saver. So... I'm not following why you don't just DO that. I don't use the screen saver function of Rosetta, so I can set up any screen saver I want. And you can run R@H as a service, so it doesn't display anything and yet runs all the time the PC is on. ...I must be missing something here about what your idea is. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |

I got the impression that they were asking for the bottom inch of the screensaver screen, and a provision to display a certain sized graphic stored in the directory. GM's Corvette plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky could have the Chevy Logo, "Bowling Green Plant" and a small boy wizzing on the Ford logo.. *grin* Have the logo only eat up 1/3rd of the bottom; and move it every few mins from Center, to right, and then to the left position. |

this seems reasonable to do particularly if it will allow companies to consider using R@h as a screensaver. |

I think the idea is that this will make the company more open to the idea of running R@H at all - it provides a specific reason to install Boinc rather than it just being an extra program running in the background. |

well, sorry for my english, it is not my native language ;] I can't tell my boss: "hello boss, I would like to install R@H on all our workstations, it consumes all free processor power, it consumes network transfer, but it is cool, you know." I have to say: "hello boss, I would like to install R@H on all our workstations, it consumes all free processor power, it consumes network transfer, but it displays nice graphics with our logo, so it is cool." :D:D Don't you understand bosses mentality? :) |

This is certainly a good idea. IBM's WCG (IBM is great in marketing its products) has the concept of "Partners" for corporations and institutions.
