I can't run Rossetta over virtual box. It freezes BOINC and won't run any WU. Windows 10, vBox 5.2.44 |

They need VirtualBox because the cutting edge in protein modelling has changed in the last year, largely since AlphaFold 2's performance in CASP 13: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-03499-y Have you tried VBox 6 or do you need to run VBox 5 for some reason? The BOINC download comes with VBox 6. I know there are com issues with VBox 6, but it is worth trying if you haven't already. I haven't heard other reports of BOINC freezing on VBox tasks (other than temporarily during start-up given that there is a lot of disk-writing to do). |

Rosetta 4.2 work is still available sometimes. I'm not getting any of that anymore. |

I know there are com issues with VBox 6, but it is worth trying if you haven't already. That's why I went back to v5. When I had v6, it showed up in VBox but never went any father. |

Rosetta 4.2 work is still available sometimes. It's rare and in short quantity. I should have used a word other than "sometimes" |

I have installed virtualbox, but the program still notice me vbox is not installed, and I can't get any work now I think you should reboot so the OS sees that VirtualBox is installed. I am using 6.1.32 on all PCs, Windows or Linux. Tullio |

I'm also disappointed by this. Some of the jobs stall, requiring days to do the last 1%, then miss the deadline. |

Please build a new app for Rosetta-python. Either Docker (for Linux hosts) or PyInstaller to pre-compile statically a python app to run natively without virtualization . (On any hosts) This native python build should skip VirtualBox completely. VirtualBox consume a ton of RAM and lowers CPU performance. VirtualBox is great for testing and prototyping but it's a bad idea to run performance intensive workloads on it. |

If you have problems, your out of luck. The staff don't read anything here. No time or no interest or both. |

I have installed virtualbox, but the program still notice me vbox is not installed, and I can't get any work now back to the basics, have you turned on the virtual mode on your motherboard? which virtual box do you have? what computer are you trying to put this on? |

(On any hosts) This would be a dream come true. Never liked VBOX because you can't just set it and forget it. LHC@Home is a... "job" to make sure everything is running smoothly. |

Please build a new app for Rosetta-python. Either Docker (for Linux hosts) or PyInstaller to pre-compile statically a python app to run natively without virtualization . (On any hosts) Not for me. I run ATLAS and its just let it run and forget it. But I run just 1 task at a time from them. I fought with it trying to run multiple, but couldn't get it to work. So I finally settled on 1/4 (1 task 4 threads) and it works just fine. If you want a pain the back side, for me it is QuChemPediA. That one like to drop into environment unmanageable (until I shut down boinc and restart) Python runs fine with the occasional bad task. But then again, this is Rosetta, error city with Python. |

I have virtual box installed but I'm getting this notice, I guess they don't want my help anymore, I'm not going to buy a new computer just to run Rosetta@home. Rosetta@home: Notice from server VirtualBox jobs require hardware acceleration support. Your processor does not support the required instruction set. 2/20/2022 7:45:13 AM |
