I have a bunch of raspberry pi 3+'s running BOINC-client. I have one where I've added the folding@home covid project and it's happily crunching away. I *thought* I could add remote work nodes to increase the # of cpus available to this process. I found configure in the menu but I can't add work nodes. I set the password on the nodes and set up preshared ssh keys between the headnode and the work nodes, but I can't figure out how to add the nodes to be controlled by the headnode.

Help?

BOINC doesn't support clustering, although some people have been able to do so.

It'll be a case of figuring out how to do so yourself, or just use them as BOINC was designed to be used- install BOINC on each of the systems, then you can use one system to remotely manage all the others. Or use a 3rd party manager to manage all of them.

As Grant said you'll need to install BOINC on each node. You can manage them from a single machine using BOINCtasks if you like. Its a windows program. You can download it from efmer.com
