Hello. It would be nice to have an option of getting COVID-19 work units only. Thank you |

Hello. Not really possible, as many of the Tasks that are released are for work that can be of benefit to research projects other than just COVID-19. So even if it doesn't have COVID-19 in the name, it may still be used in that work. So then the project would need to have COVID-19 only option, or COVID-19 and other work option, and an Other work only option. Then with the options to do other work if preferred option isn't available people would want to pick & chose what is done there. Better the project spends their time getting the bugs out of applications and data models than modifying & debugging endlessly to meet every one's possible desires for what they thing should or shouldn't be processed. It probably comes as a surprise to many, but all the other diseases that were killing people prior to COVID-19 are still killing people, not to mention the short & long term impacts of those illnesses for those that survive. Might as well help them out as well. Grant Darwin NT |

True, but it would be nice to see what category / disease a certain work unit belongs to. I have work units now with a "vegf" and a "cd28" prefix. I can't imagine it would take a lot of time and effort to extend this prefix with "Covid" or "Cancer" or whatever. I know these folding subjects are intertwined and all important, but a researcher must have something specific research subject in mind when designing work units. Just add that subject and people at least have some idea what they are donating their computer resources to. |
