Nearly all of my tasks are completing just fine as they are being reported to rosetta@home and are showing up as completed and validated. However, when I look at the BOINC manager event log, all I see is: "Project requested delay of xx seconds" where xx is either 7 or 31 This has been going on since April 22. Usually you see all kinds of messages in the event log about tasks beginning and completing and everything else going on. What is happening? |

Nearly all of my tasks are completing just fine as they are being reported to rosetta@home and are showing up as completed and validated. The messages that you’re seeing are normal, after the client has contacted the server it is asked not to contact again for a period set by the project. The problem is that you’re not seeing the rest of the normal messages due to a problem with the logging setting. Please see :- https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=13651 for details including the way to fix this. |

Bryn, The information in that post you sent me the link to fixed the problem. Thank you! I doubt I would have found that tidbit of information searching on my own. |

Nearly all of my tasks are completing just fine as they are being reported to rosetta@home and are showing up as completed and validated. You've recently upgraded to Boinc 7.16.5 haven't you. It's a quirk, very easily fixed. In Boinc Manager, under the Options menu, chose Event Log Options. Select something that isn't selected, then immediately unselect it. Click apply then save. Request an update, then check your event log. Magically fixed. Don't ask why - no-one knows. The 31 seconds thing is just the back-off from your update. Added in this Boinc version. |
