On my boxes the WU seem to be worked on in order downloaded. Overnight i received WU with a finish date 4 days earlier than other. But as stated they are being done in download order. Seems strange as all over projects are set so they can slip in WU that require a fast turn around. |

Only if they can't, allowing for the amount of time you run tasks each day, will Boinc intervene and run them by time and out of order of download. If you only run one project, things are quite simple. If you run multiple Boinc projects it gets complicated, with the priority you've given each of them and the amount of time one project has been run ahead of another, so they all get a share. It's complicated, but Boinc handles things reasonably well. If you insist on changing the order you can suspend all the tasks you don't want to run to force the running of tasks you do want to run, but when the memory demands of each task are currently so high you could just make matters much worse, so it's better you don't try and micromanage everything. I've done that myself before now and it really is a complete waste of time. You have plenty of other things to worry about than something that's going to run just fine and in time anyway |
