Different BOINC URL = Different PROJECT You need to sign-up from scratch, as if it were just one more project (SETI etc). Btw, I'm still unclear about the RESOURCE SHARE that we Rosetta users should give to RALPH: Will RALPH be giving out regular R@H WUs with only difference being the science app version? (if so, I'll set R@H to "No new work" and give its share to RALPH) Or will RALPH send out "test" WUs, in which case I'd set it to lower % resource share and keep R@H running as well? But telling people NOT to setup an account on the new project, and to instead just use the latest Boinc client and let IT setup the new account gives the impression that the project staff want people to use the latest Boinc client to do the setup for them. Technically it is correct. As is the case with all BOINC projects you must create and ID and then attach. What they are trying to do is get people to use the new method, where the BOINC client will perform both functions. When you enter the e-mail and password in the BOINC client, if the ID does not exist it will create it and attach the computer. If the ID does exist it will simply attach the the existing ID. I would agree the wording may be confusing to some, but the idea is to get people to use the BOINC client attachment system. Penalize those that actually read the documentation. :) |

Different BOINC URL = Different PROJECT yes, RA:PH will just be sending out "test" WU's, so your last suggestion is right on. with RALP H we can be sure that all WU and new code versions run fine before sending them out to the community at large. so far, it appears that the new code solves many of the problems we have been having. see the ralph message boards for details. |

They are not telling anyone to use the latest BOINC software if you read what it says when you go to the sign up page it says NOTE: If you use BOINC version 5.2+ with the BOINC Manager, don't use this form. Just run BOINC, select Attach Project, and enter an email address and password. if not you sign up the old fashion way Join us in Chat (see the forum) Click the Sig Join UBT |

All though they are recommending to sign up that way :) http://www.ralph.bakerlab.org/rah_requirements.php BOINC Client The latest version of the BOINC client is recommended. BOINC version 4.19 is not supported. where the latest version and recommended version (for the platforms rosetta/ralph support) is 5.2.13 ;-) Team mauisun.org |

This entire threaad is off topic as a Rosetta Science issue. The answer to the original question is the topic of a discussion in the RALPH forums. Unless One of the project team wants to keep this thread here, I will be removing it as off topic. in about 6 hours Moderator9 ROSETTA@home FAQ Moderator Contact |

Well I would but nobody ever goes there. I don't want to censor the topic just put it where it belongs. See the link in my last post. The server will not let me move it across the project boundary. How about the Cafe? Moderator9 ROSETTA@home FAQ Moderator Contact |
