I have noticed occasionally that connections are dropped/reset when uploading and downloading. It eventually times out, retries, and finishes successfully.

Yes there are some issues... on one of my machines some scheduler requests timed out and since the servers are apparently not configured to resend lost tasks (even in case I report the same results more than once), I have some "ghosts" now. Never got it at SETI, where people was getting many of them, but here. The trick, that works at SETI works also here: use proxy servers. Speeds up downloads and in my case also solves the issues with sheduler requests. And the forum pages open faster, if I use that also for my browser.

I have asked that recently in an other thread, but didn't get an answer, so I try again: are there any sort of cricket graphs available for the Rosetta servers like the ones we have at SETI? That could be very useful to see wether the servers are hitting some limits or something like that.

People with connection issues and Windows machines can try this trick. In particular I mean adding
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesTcpipParameters]
"Tcp1323Opts"=dword:00000003

to the registry. Not sure if it helps here since I had not yet the possibility to reboot my Rosetta crunching machines (and since I had no real issues in last days I'm not in hurry), but worth to try anyway, should not broke anything, it just enables TCP timestamps and window scaling, which is enabled by default on linux machines.

Yeah it's been up/downloading smoothly for me for the last several days as well.

I take that back, had several downloads timeout and retry. As well as a scheduler request. When the scheduler request retried, it said that the results had already been successfully reported.

Kinda wierd when the first download is stuck at 98% and the next at 2.4% and you have to leave the wifi spot...

I have 11 stuck downloads at the moment. Maybe a priority could be set to finish before starting new connections?

Since the downloads use different servers, that wouldn't be good idea. Just because one server is overloaded it doesn't mean another one is. I for example have most issues (currently not really issues, just a bit slow) if the download comes from srv2, others work currently OK or good enough for me.

Has anybody tried the registry tweek? Another way to optimize the things here at Rosetta would be increasing the run time, I use 18 and 24 hours -> less downloads, less scheduler requests -> less issues.

Since I had to reboot because of MS patch day... the registry tweek improved things for me. Not really in case of SETI, but at least in case of Rosetta. No http errors on downloads, no issues with scheduler requests, they are going thru really fast actually. Even message boards open a lot faster and without some breaks when loading.
