Hi everyone. i have only been involved with Rosetta@home for a few days. I have a Task that has suddenly ceased processing with the status meesge of Computation Error. My other Projects/Tasks seem to be working okay, including another Rosetta Task. Does anyone know what I should do. Also, what happens if I need to Turn Off / Shut Down my PC: Will my exixting Projects/Tasks that are still Processing be Saved and will my BOING Projects and Associated (Running/Suspended/Ready to Start)Tasks be Saved and remain on My PC so that they can Continue Normally when I Start my PC Again? |

Hi You've completed one task successfully so the second one (which shows "computation error") is more likely an issue with the Work Unit than your computer. It only ran for two minutes before it failed so there wasn't much time wasted on it - the it happens and isn't something to worry about unless it happens to a large proportion of your tasks. Regarding BOINC saving work; don't worry about it - it will look after itself. The Rosetta tasks generally checkpoint at some point during processing, although some don't checkpoint until they complete and so will have to restart. I'm not sure about other projects but they will definitely sort themselves out. If you don't want to lose any work that has been processed between checkpoints then you can suspend/sleep your computer which will mean it picks up exactly where it left off rather than returning to the last checkpoint.
