I have three linux hosts with VirtualBox installed to run R@H Python tasks. Two of the hosts are running multiple work-units but they are not visible/registered with VirtualBox. I can run ps ax | grep vbox and see the vbox_wrapper running, but vboxmanage list vmsor vboxmanage list runningvms does not return any entries. I have a python work-unit that BOINC has paused/postponed stating the VM has become unmanageable. Are there any ways of looking into this with vboxmanage or do I just have to abort the work-unit and ensure the slot folder is cleared out? |

Can't really help but I believe a reboot can solve the "VM: Unmanageable" problem. |

When I get an unmanageable task in QuChemPedIA@home on Windows I simply exit BOINC and r estart it. Tullio |

I am on Windows 10. I am able to list running Boinc VMs using the VBoxManage commands. Do you have to be part of a user group or certain user on Linux to see the VMs? The stuck tasks will restart after 24 hours. You would have to check the error logs in Boinc to see why they got stuck. The vbox wrapper losing communication is a common problem, at least on Windows machines. |
